Barcelonan Artist Miquel Montlló moved to Ireland in 2011. Miquel’s animations, illustrations and art works are a mixture of themes exploring the darker side of humanity and playfulness in every day life. His works are also influenced by modern media such as movies, music etc. The artist spent his childhood looking at comics and developed an interest in science fiction and imagined realities. He likes to look at alternate realities and allow himself to imagine and explore through his art works. Although a trained illustrator Miquel likes to do comics and animation and other forms of drawing and graphic works as a way of mixing styles. His subjects jump from the page in a playful, humorous and dark way.  He describes himself as a perfectionist who wants to reach out and do as many things as possible, to push reality and to explore through his art. His use of modern media imagery such as movies stills, celebrities allows his audiences a deeper understanding into the subject matter.
CURRENTLY WORKING IN "LA CATEDRAL STUDIOS" (DUBLIN, IRELAND) ON HIS OWN COMIC SERIES "JOLLY ROGER" TO BE PUBLISHED IN BELGIUM AND FRANCE IN 2013.

I let each piece I do tell its own story.  Every individual will see
something different. My work is based on organic forms be that
instantly recognisable or zoomed into obscurity. Juxtaposing colour
with shading give a different perspective and depth to my pieces
and subject matter.

Dee O' Shea - Installation /mixed media artists

Taken its origin from the concept of the uncanny, my work focuses on interior architectural form and how contained spaces can create a sense of unease. Concepts of reality, memory and fiction are combined and manifest through Illusion, scale and spatial articulation, creating an unfolding and adjustable space - distorting reality.  I invent, construct and stage small scale architectural models which are often suggestive of the domestic and institutional.  Evocative of the notion of the uncanny through de-familiarisation, the images I create possess elements of the everyday - undeniably familiar, yet totally absurd. Hovering between the formal and informal, my work deals with theatricality, reality and the spatially absurd. This is presented using illusion and scale which manifest through photography, video and installation
