Barcelonan Artist Miquel Montlló moved to Ireland in 2011. Miquel’s
animations, illustrations and art works are a mixture of themes exploring the
darker side of humanity and playfulness in every day life. His works are also
influenced by modern media such as movies, music etc. The artist spent his
childhood looking at comics and developed an interest in science fiction and
imagined realities. He likes to look at alternate realities and allow himself
to imagine and explore through his art works. Although a trained illustrator
Miquel likes to do comics and animation and other forms of drawing and graphic
works as a way of mixing styles. His subjects jump from the page in a playful,
humorous and dark way. He describes
himself as a perfectionist who wants to reach out and do as many things as
possible, to push reality and to explore through his art. His use of modern
media imagery such as movies stills, celebrities allows his audiences a deeper
understanding into the subject matter.
CURRENTLY WORKING IN "LA CATEDRAL STUDIOS" (DUBLIN,
IRELAND) ON HIS OWN COMIC SERIES "JOLLY ROGER" TO BE PUBLISHED IN
BELGIUM AND FRANCE IN 2013.
