Bridget
Ryan is an
artist living and working in Dublin.
She obtained a B.A (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Ulster,
and an MSc. in Multimedia from Dublin
City University.
Bridget’s medium is paint, and she is much influenced by the work of Mark Rothko,
and the poetry of both Patrick Kavanagh and Seamus Heaney. She is an abstract
artist, and takes inspiration from landscape, most recently basing her work on
a visit to Seville,
Granada, and
the surrounding countryside. She is also heavily influenced by the tropical
landscape and colours of Ghana,
West Africa, where she lived for several years
during her early childhood. She has worked in oil and acrylics, but has a particular
feeling for watercolour, a medium not usually associated with abstraction.
